Jim,
Also, I noticed that you
are now in Dallas. I am also in the process of relocating to
Dallas. I just recently accepted a position with Lone Star
Technologies. Our offices are in Addison. I will need to
get on the site to update my info.
Maybe we will have an
opportunity to meet in the near future. I have truly enjoyed
and been amazed at the response to the network group that you have
developed. The Stewart Group has been very helpful and
insightful. I will continue to stay plugged in to provide
networking assistance wherever I can.
I hope all is
well.

Jim-
I want to compliment you
on the organization of your group, and the regular feeding of
prospective job leads. I've learned of more leads thru you than
XXXXXXX, a paid for screening service that I currently subscribe to.
Many thanks for your time and effort on my behalf. Be sure to advise
if there is any way I can help the group. I'll forward any qualified
retained searches I encounter.

Good Morning!
I just wanted to get you a thank you note in
appreciation for your response to the request for IPO
information. You had responded to Jim Stewart's email asking
for anyone who had insight into the process to share that
information with me. I had a great number of responses
offering in depth insight from a number of individuals with personal
experience. I have made telephone contact with four members
who have given me exactly what I needed to be comfortable
with the process. Two individuals have offered further
information that will materialize shortly.
I have not contacted everyone who responded,
but have been able to secure information and follow up
references.
Thank you for extending the offer to help
out. From here, it is up to me to make the best presentation
to the recruiter who described a position that I am otherwise well
qualified.
Your offer to assist is indicative of the
quality of the members included in Jim Stewart's networking
group. Let me know if there is anything that I can do to
reciprocate.
Best Regards,
C. C.

Just a hello and to say
"thanks." Since joining your networking group, just a few
weeks ago, I have gotten many new job postings that I haven't seen
elsewhere. I have already had one excellent interview for a
CEO opportunity with the search firm.
Thanks again,
D.

I have accepted an offer for a new
position as Vice President of the "Invisible Fence" Brand, working
for Invisible Technologies, Inc. Invisible Fence is a dog
containment system that keeps your pets safe and the owner happy and
secure. I will be moving my family to Fort Wayne, Indiana by
the end of the summer.
I am very grateful for your
friendship. I intend to stay in touch and I hope you intend to
also....
My cell phone and email address will
remain the same for now. I will send my office number and new
home address when available.
Thanks Jim for starting an excellent
group for executives in transition.
Take care,
M. S.
³²²²²²²²³
Jim,
After building a network of some 1,200
names and getting up each day at
6am and home at 10pm, my wife will
finally remember who I am.
This job
came via a network lead. It happens that a good
friend from my days of
Coca-Cola in Atlanta knows the CFO of the
company (the CFO is the
godfather of one of his children). This fact came up after the
offer
was made but it does not hurt. The company is Memberworks
in Stamford
CT.
I will be the Senior Director IT and will support the
Stamford CT,
Omaha and possibly Montreal
locations.
I became a known networker in the
Connecticut area. I met
with 1 to 2
people face to face each day and
contacted either by phone or email at
least 10 others per day. I belong to 11 network
groups (3 being senior
management). Some met during the day and
some in the evening.
The
average posting for a position was one
per day. I really
screened the
positions prior to posting. When I told Ian Kennedy and
Sam Kumar this
morning, they could not have been
happier. I have met and
will continue
to communicate to all my new and old
friends while in this period
between transitions (hopefully just
kidding about the transitions...but
big business works on a 2-3 year plan and
management changes occur).
Remember...."The fragrance always stays
in the hand that gives the
rose"....get the point...helping is a
good thing and you are one of the
good people.
Best regards and thank you for you
leads,
R. D.

Dear Jim,
I look at the leads you send out
everyday, never once having it dawn on me that I haven't told you I
have landed or said Thank You for what you do and what you mean to
people.
I have joined John and Barbara Schegg at
The Schegg Group, LLC....outplacement, career transition, executive
coaching and HR strategies in recruiting and retention.
After 35 years in the corporate world, I
just couldn't get excited about the traditional search for my next
corporate role. I wanted something more, something different. I
didn't want to be fired, acquired, merged, retired or otherwise let
go, at someone else's whim. This new direction gives me an
opportunity for ownership and allows us to stay here, close to
family, many friends, our home and my gardens. K is involved with a
women's clothing and accessories boutique owned by one of our
neighbors and is having a great time. The next job was likely going
to require a move, so we just said enough, time to reassess.
Three questions: What do you love to do,
what are you good at and what do you want to do. That's what I asked
myself and this job is the result.
So now, I get to focus on others and to
coach and mentor and support. That's what I love to do. Hopefully, I
can make a small difference.
I hope we can stay in touch. Please keep
me on your distribution list and thanks again, Jim. You set the
standard.
Cheers,
³²²²²²²²³
Hello
everyone,
I would like to take this
chance to say thank you to all who helped me during my brief
encounter with unemployment. I can say that I have learned a
lot during these past 8+ months. First of all and most
important, networking is not a passive activity. And what goes
around comes around. I was fortunate enough to help several
individuals find opportunities and contacts and hopefully will
continue to be of help for those in need (now that I know what they
are going through).
The real point of this
email is to inform everyone that I have landed at a fast growing
start up. The company is called LongLite. It is in the
lighting market with major customers such as Lowes, Home Depot, and
with several other big retail stores coming online. I am the
Vice President of Manufacturing. I have the opportunity here
to leverage my semiconductor, assembly and Asian sourcing
knowledge. I started Mid-March and am currently in
China. My plans are to build an assembly site on the Texas
border this fall and a small wafer fab in Dallas in a year or
so.
Once again I want to
thank everyone for your time, consideration, and advice.
Employed,
Jerry

Jim:
You may remember our
discussion about our desire to move to the Front Range in Colorado
and the specific request for information about Sturman
Industries at the roundtable last September. Funny how things
work. Monday I began my new career as Sturman's
CEO.
While the power of the
network is unmistakable, I also saw first hand how the details
of our lives are orchestrated by a God who cares about those
details. Recently I came across this tidbit from and I
was immediately struck by how "All things work together
for good...". To those of your members that are undoubtedly
enduring uncertain and uneasy times during this period of
transition, this season will pass, remain open to
learning.
Thanks for the leadership,
the advice, the coffee at Starbucks and the friendship.
Let's stay in touch.
R. D.

Hello
Jim.
I’d like to have my name
taken off of the distribution lists. I have recently landed a
position with Cox Communications. If you’d like to keep my
name on the spreadsheet, that would be fine if I can be of help for
others. However, it
looks like the focus of the distribution and the members are geared
more to the manufacturing end and I am in the service provider side
of things. If I can be
of any help to you or any of the members, I’d be glad to lend a
hand.
Thanks, Jim. I appreciate you taking the
lead to establish this group and keep it manageable and
targeted.
Kindly,
M. P.

Dear Jim, I just wanted to follow up with
you to let you know that I have
landed at Advanced Distributor Products,
a $125 Million dollar, 800 EE
business unit of the Lennox International
World Wide Heating and Cooling
family. My position is Director of
Human Resources and I am now located in
Grenada Mississippi, a very rural but
beautiful area. I would
like to keep
in contact with you and the group as we
are doing some recruiting.
In fact,
under a separate e-mail, I will send you
the info on a job that we are
trying to fill.
Thanks to you and the group for the
support. It was really
beneficial.

Morning Jim,
I have accepted a position at DAVCO, the
leading innovator and
manufacturer of diesel fuel
filtering/processing hardware.
39% of all
2003 class 7/8 trucks use our
products.
Please take a moment to check out our web
site and ad me to your
contacts.
Let me know how I can assist you or one
of "yours."
Best regards,
N. V.
³²²²²²²²³
Jim,
I would rate it very high. Although the IT leads have
been few, the
others were excellent. I know Ian Kennedy and Sam
Kumar thinks very
highly of the group. A few times if I saw a lead
that fit one of my
colleagues that I really knew well, I
told him about it even though he
was not part of the group. You are doing a service to
senior executives
in transition. Keep up the good
work.
R. D.
³²²²²²²²³
To all,
Just a note to let you know that I have
landed. I'm now the
Director of IT
at Attachment Technologies, Inc, in Cedar
Rapids, IA. ATI is an
industrial
manufacturer of attachments, used mainly
on construction equipment.
We
manufacture large augers, backhoes, and
buckets selling to customers like
John Deere, Bobcat, and Caterpillar. It's a good opportunity for
me in
that I'll be developing an IT
organization and infrastructure to support
multiple plants and multiple business
units. I'll also
be choosing and
implementing an ERP solution to link the
business units together.
We plan
to grow the business aggressively the
next couple of years through
acquisition, and I foresee my role
evolving as we get bigger.
I'd like to
thank all of you for taking my calls,
taking my paper, and meeting with me
and helping me through these 8 months
I've been out. I
appreciate all your
leads, and all your time. Good Luck to you in the
future. For those of
you that wish to stay in touch, below is
my new contact information.
Thanks for your
help.
Sincerely,
J. M.

Jim,
Just a note to let you know that I have
recently landed the position of Vice President of Sales and
Marketing for Niles USA. Niles USA is an automotive electronics
supplier located in Novi.
I want to thank you and the
networking group for the input and support during my search.
This position was received directly through a networking
posting and networking with individuals related to the
distribution. It is my intent and request to stay part of your
executive networking group as I hope to assist others as I have been
assisted.
Thank you again and please feel free to
contact me if there is any way that I can assist you
and/or others.
Regards,
Stuart

Please see the
attached resume of Joe Vidal, a senior financial professional.
I'd like to nominate Joe for membership into the Stewart networking
group.
By the way, I
just landed two weeks ago at a public company called Watts (NYSE -
WTS). See contact details below. I appreciate your
efforts in my job search process. I co founded a local
networking group in Connecticut over the last year so I understand
the time and commitment necessary to help make such an endeavor a
success. All the best!!
Kind regards.

Hi
Jim: Happy to report that I have accepted a role as President
of an electronics company located in Cleveland. I will be
starting on 2/9/04. Although our association is fairly recent,
I wanted to thank you for all the job leads you sent my
way. After all my networking and contacting literally
hundreds of people, the role I eventually landed was through
XXXXX. My AOL address will not change and I will send you my
new contact information once I arrive in Ohio. I've learned
the hard way that it's important to maintain the "network."
Good luck, and stay in touch. Mark
³²²²²²²²³
Jim:
Please post. I would like to stay in your
group mostly because I believe
I can contribute to this great
cause.
Ladies and
Gentlemen:
I have landed! I’ve taken a position as
President for a start up yet to
be named. I will be mostly working out
of my house and hopefully soon
setting up an office in beautiful
Madison, CT where I reside.
I report to
the parent company CEO in Rhode
Island.
I would like to thank all of you for your
support and guidance when things
did not go right for me. Each one of you has
contributed to some degree
towards my final success; naming names
here would be an endless task.
I
not only want to thank Jim Stewart for
letting me join the group but also
commend him for his dedication and
support of all those in transition.
If I can be of assistance to anyone
please do not hesitate to contact
me.
Best regards,
S. K.

Jim:
Sorry for the delay. You are the first of
many
thankful written communications to be
sent. I
have
been working triple duty including
continuing to
support many projects at my former
employer.
I am pleased to announce that effective
December 1,
2003, I have accepted the position of
Vice President
of Finance with the Silverman Companies,
including its
real estate, development, construction,
advisory and
property management
businesses.
Silverman is a leading full-service real

organization which develops premier
master-planned

retail
shopping centers throughout the
Midwest.
The
Silverman Company and its affiliates have

more than 25,000 multi-family residences
and 10,000
single-family units, as well as over 20
commercial
properties valued at well over one
billion dollars
ranging from affordable to
ultra-luxury.
This opportunity surfaced through
networking and more
specifically my contacts at a "Big 4"
accounting firm.
The interview process was
challenging and unlike any
I previously experienced. In your job search,
remain
enthusiastic, energetic, positive and
keep talking and
networking with
everyone!
I want to thank everyone for their help,
advice and
networking contacts. It has been a valuable venue
for
